Since the release of Kanappa’s trailer, this movie created a buzz among film Nagar circles, and Manchu Vishnu was successful in maintaining the buzz with timely updates, interviews, and so on. Many popular stars across languages were roped into this ambitious project, thanks to his father’s legacy and his contacts across the industry. Many audiences felt that there were many high moments, especially from the time Prabhas enters the scene in the second half, all the theatres went into mayhem, and fans were super satisfied with Rebel Star’s screen presence. Though there are some high moments, these box-office numbers were far from expectations. This movie was reportedly able to collect only around ~75 crores in its theatrical run.
Reception and Performances
All the audiences appreciated this multi-starrer movie for its grandeur and Visual effects, which were initially roasted on social media. Manchu Vishnu’s performance was applauded by most of the cinegoers at the time of its theatrical release. The stardom of Prabhas played an immense role in attaining a phenomenal opening for the film in Telugu states, and many theatres were added with the increased positive word of mouth. However, the momentum fell flat after the opening weekend, and many distributors reportedly ended up in losses.
