Mahindra & Mahindra has taken the wraps off the Vision S concept during the Freedom NU event, marking Independence Day celebrations with a glimpse into the brand’s future SUV lineup. Alongside the Vision S, Mahindra also showcased the Vision T, Vision SXT, and another iteration of Vision S, all based on the NU IQ monocoque platform. These concepts are set to evolve into multiple production SUVs across various segments.
The “S” in Vision S clearly hints at the Scorpio lineage, and the model is likely to be placed within the Scorpio family. However, Mahindra has not confirmed whether this will be the next-generation ICE-powered Scorpio or a new electric Scorpio. Given the brand’s direction, both versions could be in the pipeline.
Mahindra Vision S Concept-Design – A Blend of Ruggedness and Modern Appeal
From the first look, the Vision S exudes a tough, Defender-like presence but in a more compact form compared to the current Scorpio N. The upright stance, tall pillars, and boxy silhouette echo the styling of the modern Land Rover Defender, particularly from the rear.
The front fascia is bold, with inverted L-shaped LED headlamps paired with stacked LED elements flanking Mahindra’s Twin Peaks logo. The bumper houses quad LED lights inside squared enclosures, adding to the muscular appeal.

Interestingly, the concept features a fuel tank lid on the left side, pointing towards an ICE powertrain. Yet, the modular NU IQ platform supports multiple configurations, including EVs. This means an electric Vision S could be on the cards in the near future.
While Mahindra has not confirmed final production details, the Vision S is a clear statement of intent — modernising its iconic models while preserving the rugged DNA that built their reputation.
The Vision S Concept not only excites Scorpio fans but also signals Mahindra’s ambition to compete head-on with global SUV designs while catering to India’s growing demand for feature-rich, adventure-ready vehicles.
